Hyundai Motor India has officially revealed the interior design of the Exter SUV ahead of its launch on July 10, 2023.

The Hyundai Exter will come equipped with a connected type 8” HD touchscreen and advanced digital cluster with 4.2” colour TFT MID and Hyundai Bluelink, offering over 60 connected features that make it the segment’s most connected SUV.

The infotainment unit features in-built navigation and Smartphone connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the advanced digital cluster displays a host of information related to drive statistics, TPMS (Highline),  Parking Distance, Door Open, Sunroof Open, 10 Regional + 2 Global languages as well as seatbelt reminder display for all seats. Other segment-best features include Over-the-air (OTA) updates for infotainment and map.

The Exter is the segment’s most connected SUV with Hyundai Bluelink that offers customers over 60 connected car features for safety & security, remote services, location-based services, vehicle diagnostics and voice assistance. Further, it gets Embedded Voice Commands (over 90) that work even without internet connectivity.

The Exter also boasts of segment-first H2C (Home to Car) Alexa in Hindi & English,  infotainment with multi-language UI support (10 regional and 2 international languages)  and ambient sounds of Nature with 7 acoustic profiles to enrich user experience.  The Exter has also been equipped with convenience features such as cruise control. Hyundai says the Exter will offer customers the best-in-segment wheelbase of 2,450 mm and the best-in-segment height of 1,631 mm.

The Exter will come equipped with 3 powertrain options – 1.2 l Kappa Petrol engine (E20 Fuel Ready) available with 5-speed manual transmission (5MT) and AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) as the Grand i10 Nios, Aura and the i20, and 1.2 l Bi-fuel Kappa petrol with CNG engine equipped with 5-speed Manual transmission.

The upcoming Hyundai Exter will be available in five trims with fifteen variants, three powertrain options and nine exterior paint colours. The Hyundai Exter will be available in five trims – EX, S, SX, SX (O) and the top-spec SX(O) Connect. The base EX doesn’t get an AMT gearbox option, while the remaining feature both manual and AMT gearbox options.

The upcoming Hyundai Exter will get 26 standard safety features available across all variants and as an option on entry trims (E & S). The Exter will be India’s first sub-4-meter SUV equipped with 6 Airbags (Driver, Passenger, Curtain & Side) as standard across all trims.

These include the first-in-segment features like ESC (Electronic Stability Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) and HAC (Hill Assist Control). Similarly, the Exter boasts of standard safety features like 3-Point Seat Belt & seatbelt reminder (all seats), Keyless Entry, ABS with EBD, Rear Parking Sensors, ESS, Burglar Alarm and many more.

Hyundai has also equipped the Exter with advanced safety features including Dashcam with dual camera (1st in Segment), TPMS (Highline) (1st in Segment), ISOFIX, Headlamp Escort function, Rear Parking Camera and more.
