Kia has teased a concept version of the new EV9 electric car, the second dedicated all-electric vehicle to ride on the Hyundai group’s dedicated E-GMP battery platform. The EV9 concept car will be a large seven-seat SUV sized similar to the Hyundai Palisade and the Kia Telluride. Sister brand Hyundai is also revealing a new electric SUV concept, Seven, in LA later this month.

No details have been released yet, but a teaser image suggests it will resemble a large boxy SUV. Both the Seven concept and EV9 show car will use the Hyundai Motor Group’s (HMG) new E-GMP platform. HMG’s E-GMP platform features an 800-volt electrical system, bi-directional charging, rear- and four-wheel-drive powertrains, and over 480km of claimed driving range. This platform has already made its debut with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and the Genesis GV60.
