Proton X70 To Launch Virtually On June 30, 2021

Jagdamba Motors is launching the Proton X70 SUV on June 30, 2021. The launch event which was scheduled earlier was postponed due to the second wave of Covid-19 and ensuing lockdowns. Proton Cars Nepal is now ready to launch the X70 SUV in the Nepalese market through a virtual launch event.

The Proton X70 will be powered by a 1.5-liter TGDi turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine producing 255 Nm of torque (which will be the highest in the segment). It also features a 7-speed DCT transmission which is co-developed by Volvo and Geely. The Proton X70 will be available in four variants in both FWD and AWD drivetrains.

The Proton X70 that was seen on the roads of Naxal comes with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). The ADAS system includes Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Information System, Door Open Warning System, and Intelligent High Beam Control.

The Proton X70 SUV encompasses top-notch features that include 6 Airbags, ABS with EBS and BA, Auto Headlights & Wipers, Keyless Entry, Push-Start, 360-Degree Camera, 9 Speakers, an 8-inch Infotainment Screen with smartphone connectivity, Climate Control with Smart Air Purifier System, Electric ORVMs, LED Projector Headlights with LED DRLs, LED Fog Lamps, Ventilated Front Seats, 17/18/19-inch Alloy Wheels depending upon the grade, etc.

The X70 is 4,519mm long, 1,831mm wide, and 1,694mm high. It offers a wheelbase of 2,670mm and a ground clearance of 190mm.  The X70 also holds a full 5-star crash test rating from ASEAN-NCAP and happens to be the winner of the 2019 Car of the Year Award in Malaysia.

The X70 is also expected to get the ‘HI PROTON’ voice command assistance system, a Global Key User Interface (GKUI) system that is able to detect and respond to selected voice commands to improve safety by allowing drivers to be attentive on the road ahead.  The Voice Command is able to answer basic queries as well as controlling major functions of the infotainment system and vehicle in-car functions. You can also control many other functions of the car such as Radio, Sunroof, Windshields, and Audio Call and so on.
