Sundar Yatayat is Nepal’s first electric public bus service provider. The company currently operates electric buses inside Kathmandu valley and Rupandehi district.  The company plans to start its electric bus service in other cities too in the near future. Sundar Yatayat is also looking to establish an assembling plant for electric two-wheelers and four-wheelers in the Rupandehi district.

In the past few years, both the federal and provincial state governments have encouraged the adoption of electric public transport system vehicles to reduce the carbon footprint and petroleum import bills. Sajha Yatayat, a cooperative-based public transport entity, is also bringing 40 electric buses from China’s CHTC to operate in the Kathmandu valley.
