Suzuki Motor Corporation has revealed the all-new Hayabusa motorcycle. After years of speculation about bigger engines and turbocharged power, Suzuki has finally unveiled the new 2021 Hayabusa. The all-new Hayabusa will be sold worldwide, starting from Europe toward the end of February, subsequently followed by markets including North America and Japan.

The all-new Hayabusa is the third-generation model that has undergone a full model change for the first time in 13 years. Under the product concept “Ultimate Sport”, inherited from the very first generation, it has further evolved the unique styling design with outstanding aerodynamic performance and superior riding performance.

The new and iconic styling design, which is instantly recognizable as the Hayabusa, has a flowing, forward-slanting, and aggressive silhouette characterized by its bold surfaces with sharp and edgy lines. The body comes with two-tone colors by adopting different colors for the main body and small parts around the front air intakes, on the side cowlings, and in the rear section. The turn signals with built-in position lights placed on the outer edges of the air intakes are adopted by Suzuki motorcycles for the first time.

The new Hayabusa retains the 1340cc four-cylinder engine capacity, but apart from the size and the engine cases, most of the internals have been changed. The engine gets lighter new pistons, new connecting rods, and reworked fuel injectors among numerous other changes. These changes mean that the peregrine falcon now makes 190 hp and a peak torque of 150 Nm.

Suzuki claims that the torque delivery has been revised to be stronger and the company’s USA website says that this results in the ‘quickest Hayabusa ever’. The engine comes paired with a six-speed transmission as before. The overall weight of the motorcycle has been measured at 264kg (kerb) while the claimed fuel economy stands at 14.9kmpl.

This bike, however, carries over the same (and proven) twin-spar aluminum frame from the old bike. The dimensions are quite similar as well, including an identical 1480mm wheelbase. The seat height is 800mm while ground clearance is quoted at 120mm – both figures slightly lower than on the old bike.

Suzuki has reworked the internals of the Showa suspension for this update and the bike now runs Bridgestone’s impressive Battlax S22 tires. The biggest and most needed change comes in the braking department with the Hayabusa now running Brembo’s acclaimed Stylema calipers upfront.

The 2021 model gets ten levels of traction control, ten levels of anti-wheelie control, three levels of engine brake control, three power modes, launch control, cruise control, cornering ABS, and hill hold control.
