5 Things To Know About The Skoda Karoq

The Skoda Karoq is now launched in the Nepalese market in two variants – Ambition and Ambition Plus. The Ambition is available at Rs 1,15,00,000 and Ambition Plus has a cost price of Rs 1,25,00,000. The Skoda Karoq is the follow-up and replacement of the crossover Skoda Yeti. Slotted below the Kodiaq 7-seater SUV, the Karoq challenges the likes of the Jeep Compass, Kia Sportage, and Hyundai Tucson among others. Here we bring you 5 things you should know about the upcoming Skoda Karoq.

The Skoda Karoq has numerous crystalline elements inspired by the Bohemian glassmaking tradition adds excitement to the design similar to Skoda Kodiaq. The front-end of the Skoda Kodiaq comes with Skoda’s butterfly grille, LED headlamps, and fog lamps. All together the Karoq’s design looks like a baby of the Skoda Kodiaq. The new Karoq SUV will be available in six exterior body colors – Magic Black, Lava Blue, Brilliant Silver, Candy White, Magnetic Brown, and Quartz Grey.

(2) Feature loaded Cabin

Skoda Karoq will be loaded with many features like Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, cruise control, smart trunk, umbrella holder, also gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SmartLink connectivity, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic headlamps, rear AC vents, dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, all leather upholstery, and ambient lighting.

(3) MQB Platform

The 5-seater premium SUV is based on the VW Group’s versatile MQB platform that also underpins the Skoda Kodiaq. In terms of proportions, the Karoq is 4,382mm in length, 1,841mm in width, and 1,624mm in height. The SUV has a long wheelbase of 2,638mm and stands at a ground clearance of 200mm. The SUV also has a boot space of 521-liters, which can be further extended up to 1,630-litres by folding the rear seats completely.

(4) Engine & Transmission

The Karoq is powered by a 2.0L, 6-speed automatic transmission, turbo-charged diesel engine which produces a maximum power of 141 BHP and torque of 320 NM.

(5) Scored 5-Star rating in Euro NCAP crash test

In terms of safety, Skoda Karoq scored a 5-Star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test. The Karoq comes with safety features like 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ParkTronic system, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, reverse camera, and more.
