A five-member NADA delegation led by NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal Chairman Krishna Prasad Dulal met Hon’ble Finance Minister Janardan Sharma to discuss the current issues in the Nepalese automotive sector.

During the meeting, NADA Chairman Dulal said that NADA is concerned about the issues faced in the import of vehicles. He also stressed the need of vaccination for workers employed in the automobile sector. Similarly, he urged for the swift arrangement of import of high-quality spare parts and lubricants in the context of increasing import of locally produced automobile spare parts and lubricants. Similarly, in the discussion, Chairman Dulal expressed the hope that the monetary policy of the upcoming fiscal year will be beneficial to the automobile entrepreneurs.

Similarly, Vice President Karan Chaudhary said that the 50% cap imposed by the central bank has been gradually decreasing the import of vehicles every year. He also highlighted that the reach of public vehicles has been limited due to the worsening road conditions. During the discussion, General Secretary Sunil Rijal said that it would be easier to stop unauthorized imports if the imported bills were computerized.
