The prices of petrol and diesel were slashed by Rs 20 and Rs 29 per litre respectively on June 26. However, according to the corporation, the prices had to be increased on the basis of the new prices sent by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). The debt-laden NOC has also requested the government to introduce a fuel quota system for vehicles and an odd-even vehicle rationing system given the difficulties in purchasing fuel.
