Honda Assembly Plant Established in Nepal with an Investment of Rs 150 Crores

The assembly facility for Honda Motorcycles and Scooters, the leading brand in Nepal’s motorcycle market, has been set up within the country. On March 6, 2024, Mr. Minoru Kato, Vice President of Honda Motorcycle’s primary business unit, officially opened the Honda Assembly Plant in Bhairahawa.

With an investment of 150 Crore NPR, covering an area of 220,000 square feet, this plant can produce 100,000 motorcycles and scooters. While the company has not revealed details about the product set to be manufactured at this facility, it appears from the shared image that the production of the Honda Dio has begun.

The event saw the presence of domestic and international representatives from Honda Company. The presence of Tayuki Nakanose, General Manager of Kumamoto Factory, Vehicle Assembly Plant, along with Tetsuya Komine, Sales Director from ASH (Thailand), and Yoichi Shimada, Production Director, added grandeur to the event. Additionally,  Masahide Hirose, Sales Department Manager, and Yasuyuki Yamamoto, Assistant Manager, from Japan enhanced the program’s significance. Moreover,  Naveen Awal, Production Director from HMSI (INDIA), and Pradeep Chaudhry, General Manager of Export/Import Sales & After Sales, graced the occasion with their honorable presence.

In the program, prominent figures from Nepal such as Honourable Chabilal Biswakarma, Member of the House of Parliament, Honourable Santosh Pandey, Home Minister of Lumbini Province, Bhagwati Chaudhary, Province Member of Parliament, Bidya Yadav, Chairperson of Rohini V.D.C, Hari K. Bhatt former Chairperson of Om Satiya V.D.C were present. As well as, Padma Jyoti, Chairman of Jyoti Group, and Saurabh Jyoti, Chairman of Himal Moto Nepal P. Ltd, were also present.

With the new plant, Honda Nepal is committed to maintaining its world-class quality standards and ensuring customer satisfaction. Honda has gained the trust of its customer base over 55 years and is the highest-selling brand of two-wheelers in Nepal.

Syakar Trading Company Pvt. Ltd., Honda’s authorized distributor for Nepal, has stated that the company will increase the availability of products, and accessibility of spare parts and services with this newly established assembly plant through its subsidiary company Himal Moto Nepal Pvt. Ltd.
