Kia Motors India has revealed the specifications, variants and engine options of the recently unveiled 7-seater Carens MPV. The upcoming Carens will be available in five variants and three engine options.

Kia Carens: Variants and Features

The Carens will be available in five trims – Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury and Luxury Plus. Kia will offer an option of six and seven-seat layouts depending on the variant.

The Carens MPV will be a feature-loaded offering with several first-in-class features. The upcoming MPV will get variant-specific features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 64-colour ambient cabin lighting, an air purifier, full leatherette seats, an 8-speaker BOSE sound system, a cooled wireless charger, ventilated seats, rain-sensing wipers, 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, keyless entry and go, multiple drive modes – Normal, Eco and Sport (DCT, AT only), rear washer and wiper, a 12.5-inch LCD instrument cluster- and six airbags, ABS, ESC, all-wheel disc brakes, rear parking sensors and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The latter comes standard across all trims.

Kia Carens: Engine and Gearbox Details

The Carens MPV will come with two petrol and one diesel engine option. This includes a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine, a 1.4-litre turbo petrol motor, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine makes 115 bhp with 144 Nm of torque, the 1.4-litre T-GDi turbo petrol engine delivers 140 bhp with 242 Nm of peak torque, and the 1.5-litre diesel mill makes 115 bhp and 250 Nm. Transmission duties will be handled by a 6-speed manual transmission (standard on the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel), a 6-speed torque convertor (1.5-litre diesel), and a 7-speed DCT (1.4-litre T-GDi petrol).

Kia Carens: Dimensions

The Carens MPV has the longest wheelbase in its class. In terms of dimensions, the Kia Carens measures 4,540 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,708 mm in height. The Carens will be available in eight colours – Imperial Blue, Moss Brown, Sparkling Silver, Intense Red, Glacier White Pearl, Clear White, Gravity Grey and Aurora Black Pearl.
