NASA Nepal Launches ‘Safe and Affordable Helmet’ Campaign

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in association with World Bank has initiated ‘Safe and Affordable Helmet’ campaign in Nepal. The campaign which is being conducted by Nepal Automobiles’ Association (NASA) will focus on organizing various awareness programs related to helmet safety. NASA will also distribute more than 300 UN-standard motorcycle helmets.

The campaign was announced under the presence of Hartwig Schafer (Vice President – World Bank), Luca Pascatto (Head of FIA Road Safety and Global Advocacy), Member of Parliament Hon. Yogesh Bhattarai, Faris Hadad-Zervos (Country Director – World Bank), and other dignitaries.

The guests present on the occasion provided UN-standard helmets to Hemant Tiwari (Safe and Sustainable Transport Nepal), Debu Parajuli (National Federation of Disabled Nepal), and Ramhari Silwal (Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools Association of Nepal).

This campaign has been launched to minimize the damage caused by accidents, to spread awareness about the use of safe helmets and to implement the National Helmet Standard for Helmets, in view of the increasing number of two-wheeler accidents in Nepal.
