Targeting the global market, this midsize-to-large pickup signifies a notable stride for the Chinese automotive giant, intensifying its competition against established global rivals like Toyota and Tesla. Comparable in size to the Ford Ranger PHEV, the Shark stands out as there are no other plug-in pickups of its class available in key markets such as China, Europe, or Australia where it will be marketed.

While specifics of the Shark’s powertrain remain undisclosed, it will introduce a plug-in hybrid system dubbed Dual Mode Off-Road (DMO), aimed at enhancing off-road driving capabilities.
