Do you remember riding on the back of the Pulsar that your friend’s dad bought him? Or, maybe “borrowing” a friend/brother/uncle’s bike to “go just a few blocks away” and only quietly coasting in at the dead of night? We’re talking about the Pulsar that had a circular headlight, a bulbous fuel tank, and a tagline that read “Definitely Male”.

We remember. The thrill of the open road and the sense of freedom that came with it is indescribable. It was a time when life was simpler, and the open road was the ultimate destination.

Here’s the thing. That was more than 20 years ago. To think, that unbeknownst to us, we were riding on what was, and is, an integral cog of one of the most epic legacies in our part of the motorcycling world.

Bajaj Auto is a juggernaut in the world of motorcycles, and its journey in Nepal started 25 years ago. The launch of the Pulsars was arguably their most notable achievement, as it democratized performance motorcycling and made it accessible to the masses. While it was the Pulsar that put them on the map, Bajaj has a slew of other motorcycles that have contributed to the company’s history.

In this issue, we partake in the celebration of Bajaj Auto’s 25th year in Nepal by looking back at some of their iconic motorcycles and taking a stroll down memory lane.

Accompanying the Bajaj Motorcycles this month is the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios: a leading candidate in the pursuit of the best first car, the Bravo Jumbo II and Sunra Robo-S: representing electric mobility, and a photo journal of a 7000km+ journey that took us from Kathmandu to Goa and back as part of the TVS AOG Ride to the Motosoul.

We hope you enjoy this month’s issue of Nepal Drives. We will see you again with the next one.
