Odd-Even Rule For Vehicular Movement Announced For Kathmandu Valley

The government has announced odd-even rules for private vehicles in Kathmandu valley. This includes the movement of private two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Vehicles with even plates (0,2,4,6 and 8) will be allowed on even dates going by the Nepali calendar while odd plates (1,3,5,7 and 9) will be allowed on odd dates.

Similarly, taxis will also be allowed to operate under the odd-even rule. However, other public transports won’t be allowed to operate. Only four passengers will be allowed in private cars and jeep vans. Similarly, only three passengers will be allowed in the taxi.

The prohibitory ban issued in Kathmandu Valley has been extended by one week. A meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur districts on Sunday decided to extend the ban till June 25, 2021.
