The Karizma nameplate is back. Hero MotoCorp has reintroduced one of the most iconic bike models in our part of the world in a brand new avatar, the new Karizma XMR 210. The new XMR 210 is the successor to the original Karizma that helped introduce the leisure biking segment in India. Karizma was first introduced in 2003 under a partnership between Honda and Hero MotoCorp, continuing in the lineup till 2019 when it was discontinued owing to declining sales. However, the much-awaited nomenclature is back after a gap of four years to expand Hero Motocorp’s presence in the premium motorcycle category.

Featuring an aggressive styling, the new Karizma XMR 210 gets dual LED projector headlights surrounded by H-shaped LED DRLs, a chiseled fuel tank, LED turn indicators and taillamps, clip-on handlebars, and an adjustable windshield, which is a first in the segment. The XMR’s semi-fairing is in line with the previous iteration of Karizma. It also has a split seat layout and a sleek tail section. The new Karizma XMR 210 will be available in three different colours:   Iconic Yellow, Turbo Red, Matte Phantom Black.

Powering Hero’s new Karizma XMR 210 is an all-new 210cc, DOHC, 4-valve liquid-cooled (a first for a Hero bike), single-cylinder engine that delivers 25.5PS at 9,250rpm and 20.4Nm at 7,250rpm. This makes the bike more powerful than the KTM RC 200. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper and assist clutch.

The new Karizma XMR comes loaded with features. It sports an all-new fully-digital instrument cluster which the company claims is the largest in its class. The instrument cluster will display all the necessary parameters like gear position indicator, date, time, trip, odo, fuel level, tacho, speedo and more. The bike also gets Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.

Suspension duties on the new Karizma XMR 210 are handled by a telescopic fork at the front and a gas-charged 6-step preload adjustable mono-shock at the rear. The Karizma XMR does miss out on a USD fork, which is available on the new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V.

Braking duties are taken care of by 300mm front and 230 mm rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. The Karizma XMR 210 has a steel trellis frame (the first Hero bike to get one) and a box-section swingarm. The bike has a wheelbase of 1,351mm, seat height of 810mm, ground clearance of 160mm and a kerb weight of 163.5kg.

The all-new Hero Karizma XMR 210 will rival the likes of the KTM RC 200, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and Bajaj Pulsar RS200. The all-new Karizma XMR 210 is priced at INR 1,82,900 (ex-showroom) and its introductory price of INR 1,72,900 makes it even cheaper than the Yamaha R15 V4.
