Volkswagen has revealed a glimpse of a new electric car called the ID.2all concept car, which will cost less than 25,000 euros. The final production version of this car will be based on the MEB Entry platform and is one of ten new electric models that Volkswagen will launch by 2026. The production version of the ID.2all will be presented in 2025 for the European market with a starting price of less than 25,000 euros. The ID.2all will be the first MEB vehicle with front-wheel drive and will set new standards in technology and everyday usability.

The car will have an efficient drive, battery and charging technology with a powerful electric drive motor output of 166 kW/226 PS and a calculated WLTP range of up to 450 kilometres. Volkswagen is also focusing on design with the ID.2all previewing the new design language of Volkswagen, which is based on the three pillars of stability, likeability, and enthusiasm.

Exterior design

The ID.2all concept car also showcases Volkswagen’s new design language, which incorporates the C-pillar design that was first introduced in the original Golf. The ID.2all features a modern interpretation of this signature design element. Additionally, the concept car boasts a sleek and powerful body that sits confidently on its wheels, along with a friendly and approachable front face. The car’s design combines dynamic lines with timeless elegance, resulting in a striking overall appearance.

Interior design

The interior of the ID.2all is designed with a focus on simplicity and high quality materials. The infotainment system is intuitive and features a classic volume control, along with a separate air conditioning unit. Additionally, the car offers a spacious storage volume of 490-1,330 liters, which is more than many higher-end vehicles.

Volkswagen has an ambitious plan to launch ten new electric models by 2026, including the production version of the ID.2all. This year, the company plans to release the new ID.3, the long-wheelbase ID. Buzz, and the ID.7. In 2026, a compact electric SUV will also be introduced, and Volkswagen is even working on an electric car that will cost less than 20,000 euros. These efforts will give Volkswagen the broadest range of electric vehicles compared to its competitors, with a goal of achieving an 80% share of electric cars in Europe. This is an increase from the company’s previous goal of a 70% share.
