Yamaha Nepal is all set to add a second BS6 scooter to its portfolio after the Fascino 125 FI BS6. With an aim to capture the growing 125cc premium scooter segment, the company is geared up to launch the Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI BS6 scooter within the next two weeks.
The BS6 Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI will be launched digitally, using IoT and Artificial Intelligence, making it a one-of-a-kind virtual event in the Nepalese automotive landscape. Surprisingly, Yamaha is the only manufacturer to launch successive BS6 models in the country.
The 2020 Yamaha Ray ZR 125 FI BS6 gets a noticeable cosmetic upgrade when compared to the outgoing model. It now gets a Y-shaped LED position light, new front apron, and new livery. In terms of feature-list, it gets a new digital instrument cluster, a Stop and Start system, Smart Motor Generator for a quieter start-up, Side Stand Engine Cut-off Switch, and a Unified Braking System. It now weighs only 99kg making it the lightest 125cc scooters available in Nepal along with the BS6 Fascino 125 FI.
The Ray ZR 125 FI gets the same BS6 125 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine from the BS6 Yamaha Fascino 125 FI. This motor produces 8.2 PS of max power at 6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 9.7 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The scooter comes equipped with a telescopic fork at the front and a single shock absorber at the rear. Braking duties are done by a front disc/rear drum setup.
The new Ray ZR 125 FI will be available in five variants including Dark Matte Blue, Metallic Black, Cyan Blue, Matte Red Metallic and Reddish Yellow Cocktail.
