Ather Energy has revealed its newest family scooter, the Rizta, at the Ather Community Day in Bengaluru, India. Positioned as a family-focused scooter, the Rizta emphasizes comfort, convenience, and safety while introducing new connected and safety features.

Prioritizing comfort and convenience, the Rizta features a spacious seat (the largest in any Indian two-wheeler), a generous floorboard, and a backrest for additional comfort for the pillion rider. The Rizta also offers a 56L of storage space, including a 34L under-seat capacity and an optional 22L Frunk accessory. Moreover, the scooter provides a multi-purpose charger under the seat for charging electronic devices on the move.

The Ather Rizta is available in two models with three variants each, across the S and Z models. The base S and mid-range Z models are equipped with a 2.9 kWh battery, while the top-spec Rizta Z variant boasts a 3.7 kWh battery for extended range. The electric scooter offers a range of 123 km for the 2.9 kWh variants and 160 km for the 3.7 kWh variant, making it suitable for everyday commuting needs. The Rizta offers two riding modes – Zip and SmartEco – along with ride-assist features.

In terms of tech, the base S variant boasts a 7-inch DeepView instrument console with a Cortex Series processor, Real-Time Operating System (RTOS), 8GB storage, and 1 GB RAM. Meanwhile, the mid-range Z and top-tier Rizta Z variants feature a 7-inch TFT console, equipped with a Snapdragon 212 Quadcore 1.3 GHz processor, Android Open Source OS, 16 GB storage, and 2GB RAM. All three variants’ screens are IP65-rated for water and dust resistance.

Safety features on the Rizta include SkidControl, a traction control system aimed at improving grip on diverse road surfaces. Additionally, the scooter incorporates features like FallSafe, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Theft & Tow Detect, and Find My Scooter for enhanced security.

The Rizta also introduces innovative features such as WhatsApp integration on the dashboard, call rejection with messages, live location sharing, and Amazon Alexa integration.
