NADA Auto Show 2023: Hyundai Exter Unveiled Ahead Of Its Launch In The Festive Season

Hyundai Nepal has unveiled the Exter micro-SUV at the ongoing NADA Auto Show 2023 ahead of its launch in the upcoming festive season. The Exter will tentatively cost between Rs 40 Lakh – Rs 45 Lakh in the Nepalese market.

The Exter is a 5-seater compact SUV which sits below the Venue in the company’s lineup. It has a dimension of 3,815mm in length, 1,710mm in width and 1,631mm in height. Hyundai says the Exter offers customers the best-in-segment wheelbase of 2,450 mm and the best-in-segment height of 1,631 mm.

The facade features a Parametric Front Grille flanked by H-Signature LED DRLs, Projector Headlamps and a sporty-looking skid plate. The side is further accentuated with Diamond Cut alloy wheels housed in blacked-out wheel arches & side sill cladding. The A and B pillars are blacked out while the C-Pillar gets a dual-tone finish. At the rear, the Exter features a floating roof design which is further enhanced with parametric design C-Pillar garnish and sporty bridge-type roof rails.

The Exter will come equipped with a 1.2 l Kappa Petrol engine (E20 Fuel Ready) with 5-speed manual transmission (5MT) and AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) as the Grand i10 Nios, Aura and the i20. The Exter’s 4-cylinder, 1197 cc, petrol engine delivers 82 PS of power and 113.8 Nm of torque. In the Indian market, the Exter is available in five trims – EX, S, SX, SX (O) and the top-spec SX(O) Connect. The base EX doesn’t get an AMT gearbox option, while the remaining features both manual and AMT gearbox options.

Hyundai has also equipped the Exter with advanced safety features including Dashcam with dual camera (1st in Segment), TPMS (Highline) (1st in Segment), ISOFIX, Headlamp Escort function, Rear Parking Camera and more. The Exter comes equipped with a connected type 8” HD touchscreen and advanced digital cluster with 4.2” colour TFT MID. The infotainment unit features in-built navigation and Smartphone connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the advanced digital cluster displays a host of information related to drive statistics.

The Hyundai Exter will get 26 standard safety features available across all variants and as an option on entry trims (E & S). The Exter is India’s first sub-4-meter SUV equipped with 6 Airbags (Driver, Passenger, Curtain and side) as standard across all trims.

These include the first-in-segment features like ESC (Electronic Stability Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) and HAC (Hill Assist Control). Similarly, the Exter boasts of standard safety features like a 3-Point Seat Belt & seatbelt reminder (all seats), Keyless Entry, ABS with EBD, Rear Parking Sensors, ESS, Burglar Alarm and many more.
