MAW Life, the sole authorised distributor for Jeep in Nepal, has commenced bookings for the all-new seven-seater Jeep Meridian SUV in Nepal at a special pre-launch price. The pre-launch price of Jeep Meridian in Nepal has been fixed at Rs 1.80 crore. The Meridian will only be available in the top-spec Limited (O) trim in our market.

The styling of the Meridian, especially the front fascia, including the slim headlamps flanking the seven-slot grille, is more in line with the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Another design element that seems to be inspired by the larger model is the pair of slim tail lamps, connected by a chrome bar.

Based on the Compass’ underpinnings, the Meridian is a larger SUV than its sibling, being stretched in both, overall length and wheelbase to accommodate the third row of seats. In terms of dimensions, the Meridian measures 4,769mm in length, 1,859mm in width, and 1,682mm in height – that’s 364mm longer, 41mm wider and 48mm taller than the Compass. Similarly, the wheelbase has now increased by 146mm to 2,974mm.

The Meridian will be available with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Multijet turbo-diesel engine to produce 170hp and 350 Nm of torque. Coming to the transmission, the Meridian’s diesel engine gets a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with an all-wheel drive (AWD) layout.

The interior of the Meridian is similar to the one we have seen in the Compass. However, it ditches the smaller model’s all-black look for a brown colour scheme. The leather upholstery in the Meridian uniquely features a perforated and quilted pattern.

Coming to the equipment list, the Meridian gets powered front seats, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, six airbags, traction control, ESC, hill start and descent control, 360-degree parking camera, and selectable drive modes (sand/mud, snow, and auto). The three-row SUV additionally packs in a powered tailgate and a 9-speaker audio system by Alpine.

The Meridian locks horns against the Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq in the Nepalese market.

MAW Life has also started the display and test drive of the Jeep Meridian in its Kathmandu Showroom before the official debut.
