The first images of an all-new Harley-Davidson motorcycle (Made-in-India in collaboration with Hero MotoCorp) have surfaced online, hinting at a low-capacity motorcycle powered by what could be a new air-/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine with a cubic capacity around the 400cc range.

The design of this upcoming Harley-Davidson seems to be inspired by the old HD XR1200 X roadster. As seen from the images, the neo-retro features a round headlamp with a horizontal LED DRL, a muscular fuel tank and a single-piece seat. The new Harley will sit on a double-downtube frame, along with upside-down front forks and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers. The bike gets Bybre disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.

Images also reveal the wheels with Ceat Xooms tyres, the front being a 100-section and the rear being a 140/70 R17 unit. The instrument console, in typical Harley fashion, is a single pod unit, and given the relatively low redline around the 8,000 rpm mark, it will be a long-stroke engine with better mid-range performance.

The images appear to be from Hero MotoCorp’s R&D facility on the outskirts of Jaipur, India, known as the Centre of Innovation and Technology or the CIT. Judging by the images and production-spec of the bike, the bike can be expected to launch quite soon.

As far as the pricing is concerned, expect the bike to be priced below the INR 2.5 Lakh mark. The upcoming Harley Davidson 400cc motorcycle will compete against the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa 42, Honda Hness/CB 350 RS, etc.
