Nepal’s First Motorsports Academy Inaugurated In Dhulikhel

Nepal Automobiles Association, the pioneer in the field of motor and motorcycling sports in Nepal for more than a decade, has inaugurated Nepal’s first motorsports academy at Himalayan Motorland in Dhulikhel. Ultimate Himalayan Motor Land is the event partner for this academy started by NASA with the support of Dhulikhel Municipality. The academy was inaugurated by Mayor of Dhulikhel Mr. Ashok Kumar Banju Shrestha amid a program chaired by NASA Nepal’s President Dasharath Risal at Motorland on July 10,2021.

Anil Kumar Baral, Vice President of NASA Nepal, who is also the program coordinator, expressed his satisfaction over the success of the program. He also highlighted the fact that the motorsports academy will add a new dimension to motorsports in Nepal. Likewise, he informed that the academy will make an annual program for driver/ rider preparation, sports license distribution, girls on the track program, and other campaigns.

On the occasion, Diprash Shakya, member of NASA Nepal and managing director of Ultimate Himalayan Motor Land, announced that the motor land will soon move ahead with various state and national level sports programs. Similarly, NASA Secretary Niraj Khadka thanked the Dhulikhel municipality for its support and assistance so far and expressed NASA’s commitment to make Dhulikhel a hub of sports tourism in the days to come. Also present as a guest at the event was Govinda Bhattarai, Founder Secretary-General of NASA Nepal, who highlighted the relationship between sports, players and volunteers, the importance of branding in sports, and the support from the National Sports Council.

In the second phase of the program, a total of 40 participants from Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and Kavre districts were provided marshall training. Sushil Tandukar and his team presented the basic knowledge required for track marshalls while Dr. Shreya Shrestha, who was present at the event on behalf of Dhulikhel Hospital, informed the team about the emergency rescue. The participants were also provided a practical experience of the track. In addition, certificates of medical and track marshal were also given to the participants by the guests.
