Thai Buyers Wait Hours To Book The BYD Atto 3

The BYD Atto 3 electric SUV has received an overwhelming response in Thailand prompting Thai buyers to queue overnight before the bookings went live, reported Thai website Blink Drive. The demand for the BYD Atto 3 appeared to be so strong that queues began forming the night before outside several BYD showrooms across Thailand.

Rever Automotive, the official distributor of BYD in Thailand, stated that it is prepared to deliver 5,000 units of the Atto 3 this year, according to Bangkok Biz News. Of that 5,000-unit quota, 2,507 reservations were collected on the first day, Headlight Magazine reported. The initial Extended Range variant for Thailand will be joined by the Standard Range version from November 11.

In August, Rever CEO Pratarnwong Phornprapha said that the distributor is aiming for BYD to be among the top five largest carmakers in Thailand in five years’ time.

BYD is stepping up its global expansion program with the Atto 3. The Atto 3 which is being introduced to a growing number of countries has already been launched in several countries, such as Japan, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Cambodia, Israel, India, and Nepal.

The BYD Atto 3 which is priced at Rs 89.90 Lakh in the Nepalese market comes equipped with a 60.4 kWh ‘Blade Battery’ that provides a range of 420 km according to the WLTP cycle. Power delivery is rated at 150 kW while torque produced is 310 Nm.
