KTM India has launched a low-cost variant of the 390 Adventure, the 390 Adventure X, for budget-conscious buyers. The 390 Adventure X is priced significantly lower than the 390 Adventure and packs fewer features than the standard model. For reference, the ‘X’ trim has been priced at INR 2.80 lakh while the standard Adventure 390 has been currently priced at INR 3.37 lakh.

The 390 Adventure X misses out on the Bluetooth connectivity equipped TFT display for an LCD screen. It also omits electronic rider aids like traction control, quickshifter, and cornering ABS. However, the dual-channel ABS and slipper clutch is retained. In terms of design, both variants come equipped with the same full-LED lighting, 12V USB socket, bodywork, engine, and suspension.

At the heart of the new ‘X’ trim continues to sit the same 373.27cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve engine with a dual overhead camshaft that delivers 42.9bhp of maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 37 Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The suspension duties on the bike are handled by a 43mm upside-down WP Apex front fork which is backed up with a 10-step adjustable WP rear mono-shock. For braking, the bike uses a 320 mm single disc at the front and a 230mm single rotor at the back. The ‘X’ trim also gets a 14.5-litre fuel tank and weighs 177kg (kerb).

The 390 Adventure X is listed in two colour themes– Galactic Blue and Dark Galvano Black.
