Jeep has revealed the Compass facelift in the Chinese market at the ongoing 2020 Guangzhou International Motor Show. The Jeep Compass receives the facelift at a time when the compact SUV segment has become even more competitive with the arrivals of new rivals like Volkswagen T-Roc, Skoda Karoq, etc. The upcoming Jeep Compass facelift will also be available in the Trailhawk off-road package that features a blacked-out grille, black and red decals on the bonnet, red tow hooks on the front and Trailhawk badges.

The facelift version of the Compass is 9mm longer and 17mm higher than the outgoing model. On the outside, the new Compass gets new headlights with LED DRLs and a redesigned seven-slat signature grille to lend a more futuristic design. The SUV also gets a completely redesigned front bumper with new air intakes and restyled fog lamp housing. The changes to the side and rear profile remain limited to new alloy wheels and a nearly identical rear.

However, the most significant changes are on the inside. The new Compass gets a completely revamped interior. It gets a floating 10.1-inch touchscreen system, a new steering wheel, slim AC vents, and HVAC controls. The cabin gets a two-tone synthetic leather treatment and brushed aluminium trim. It also gets an updated 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

Although the Cina-spec facelift will receive a set of new engines, the Indian-spec Compass facelift will continue to be powered by the existing model’s BS6-compliant motors. The current Compass is available with a 1.4-litre, 160 bhp/250 Nm petrol and a 2.0-litre, 171bhp/350 Nm diesel engine. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual as standard, with the petrol motor getting the option of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and the diesel getting a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
