As per the new statement, it is not compulsory for all vehicles registered in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces to install the embossed number plate system. However, it is mandatory for three types of vehicles to affix the embossed number plate system before July 17, 2022 (Shrawan 1, 2079 B.S.)

What types of vehicles should affix the embossed number plate system?

According to DoTM, vehicles purchased after Mangshir 1, 2078 B.S should be fitted with embossed number plates. Similarly, the ownership transfer done after Falgun 1, 2078 B.S. and vehicles renewed after Jestha 1, 2079 B.S. should also get the embossed number plate, before Sharawan 1, 2079 B.S.
