Install Embossed Number Plates Or Attract Penalty

The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has made it compulsory for vehicles registered in Bagmati and Gandaki province to install embossed number plates from Shrawan 1, 2079 B.S. (July 17, 2022). Motorists who fail to install the embossed number plate by Shrawan 1st are likely to be slapped with a fine.

This rule applies to vehicles registered at the Department of Transport Management, Ekantakuna (Lalitpur) and Gurjudhara (Kathmandu) and the Department of Transport Management, Pokhara (Kaski)

Embossed Number Plates Costs:

According to the information released by the department, it will cost Rs 2,500 for motorcycles and scooters, Rs 2,900 for three-wheelers, Rs 3,200 for small and medium vehicles, and Rs 3,600 for heavy vehicles and above.
