The Metropolitan Traffic Police Office in Kathmandu, upon request from Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd., has conducted a training program on “Management of Electric Vehicle Accidents and Post-Accident Vehicle Handling.”

The training provided detailed information on electric vehicles, safety measures related to electric vehicles, and precautions to be taken in case of accidents. The theoretical and practical sessions lasted for 8 hours. The training program which was conducted in four phases involved 60 participants from the various sub-units of the Traffic Police.

With the increasing adoption of electric vehicles within the country, it becomes paramount for various stakeholders, including traffic police personnel, to comprehend the safety protocols and necessary precautions in the event of accidents involving electric vehicles.

Moreover, given the relatively new nature of electric vehicles in many regions, including Nepal, it’s crucial to disseminate information and provide training sessions, as was done in the mentioned program. Such initiatives enable the Traffic Police to efficiently manage incidents involving electric vehicles, thereby ensuring the safety of both responders and the public.
