Renault-Nissan Alliance In India To Have SUVs And Entry-Level EVs

Renault Group and Nissan plan to collaborate on several new vehicle projects, including SUVs and A-segment electric vehicles, in India as part of new initiatives announced by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance.

For India, Renault and Nissan would collaborate on several new vehicle projects including new SUVs shared by both Renault Group and Nissan, and a New Nissan car derived from the Renault Triber. Additionally, the alliance is also considering common A-segment electric vehicles.

As per reports, Renault is likely to bring back the Duster moniker to India. Renault could introduce the third-gen Duster in the Indian market that will not only be compatible with ICE but also an EV-only powertrain. Similarly, Nissan is also developing a Renault Triber-based MPV for the Indian market.

On the other hand, the Renault-Nissan alliance which also plans to introduce an all-new entry-level electric vehicle for India based on the company’s CMF-AEV platform. The entry-level EV could be the Kwid-based EV called Kwid E-Tech which the company sells in Latin American markets.
