BYD has unveiled an updated version of its popular Atto 3 SUV before its launch in international markets. The unveiled updates, tailored for right-hand-drive markets, feature a larger infotainment screen, along with a few exterior and interior changes.

While the exterior design remains the same as the current model, BYD has introduced a striking new ‘Cosmos Black’ paint option, blacked-out chrome accents and updated 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear now sports the abbreviated ‘BYD’ lettering, replacing the ‘Build Your Dreams’ logo from the previous model.

Inside, the 2024 BYD Atto 3 boasts a larger 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, borrowed from the BYD Seal sedan, and a new Dark Blue & Black color scheme for the cabin. Additionally, BYD has incorporated an ‘Intelligent Start’ system, enabling the driver to initiate the vehicle by simply pressing the brake pedal.

Further updates listed by BYD Japan include a thicker sunroof shade, expanded voice recognition software, quieter navigation with “proximity alarm” alerts, a new anti-theft alarm sound, and synchronization of interior ambient lighting with Spotify songs.

There are no alterations to the Atto 3’s battery and motors, retaining either a 150kW/310Nm front electric motor powered by a 49.9kWh battery with a claimed WLTP driving range of 345km or a 60.5kWh battery offering 420km of claimed WLTP range in the international market.

Currently, BYD offers the Atto 3 in two different variants – Advanced and Superior – in our market. The Advanced variant of the BYD Atto 3 features a 49.94 kWh battery pack, while the Superior variant is equipped with a 60.48 kWh battery. The Advanced model achieves a WLTP range of 345 km, whereas the Superior variant boasts a range of 420 km. Both variants come with a 99 kW electric motor.

Pricing for the 2024 BYD Atto 3 remains undisclosed. The electric vehicle is slated for imminent release in international markets and is also anticipated to become available in our market.
