As Marc Marquez prepares for his inaugural season with Gresini Racing, the eight-time World Champion is eyeing a chance to make history.

If he secures a ninth world title, Marquez would join the ranks of legendary riders such as Valentino Rossi, Mike Hailwood, and Carlo Ubbiali in terms of championship victories. Additionally, Marquez has the opportunity to carve his niche by becoming the first rider in the MotoGP era to clinch the title with an Independent Team.

Teaming up with his brother Alex at the Italian outfit, Marc Marquez is determined to recapture the MotoGP World Championship. This move mirrors Alex Marquez’s switch from Honda to Gresini in the previous year, where he had a commendable campaign, winning two sprint races.

Gresini Racing, in 2023, achieved a notable victory thanks to Di Giannantonio at the Qatar GP. Interestingly, at that point, Di Giannantonio’s future with the team had been uncertain, partly due to Marc Marquez securing his seat for the 2024 season.

The 2024 MotoGP race calendar will consist of 21 Grands Prix and 42 races as MotoGP will again engage the popular Saturday Sprint format at every round. The first of 21 rounds begins with the trip to the Lusail International Circuit for the Grand Prix of Qatar from March 8-10.
